The Difference Between Your Country and Your Government
Your country is an intangible entity comprised of tradition, freedom, and principles guaranteed to us by a remarkable document drafted over 200 years ago by a few idealistic geniuses, several intelligent men, and a group of patriots who, if not perfect, were at least bright enough not to block the efforts of the former. You ever have the feeling
You’re at the bottom of a well
And there is no one around to hear you
No matter how loudly you yell

I view the world around me with tired eyes
I see the same waste of spirit and hope
That surrounded me all those years ago
And though I wish it so, nothing changes
The wars have moved on to other places
Fought with new weapons, but death is the same
Children lose parents, and grow up alone
Or they also die and grow not at all
The bosses appear to be different
But beneath it all there are no changes
The same motivations, some are righteous
But most still sound in avarice and greed
Will there be a time to rest peacefully
When children can safely play in the sun
And death visits only the very old
Or will man expire before that time comes
